This outing came with a short notice. It was kinda rushed since Gabriel didn't have much time to be on the outside. Still, many people answered the calling. It was sort of like a gathering to send Gabriel off to Tekong again, as well as say our goodbyes to Hao Zi and Sihao who are enlisting soon.
Yesterday was 2 January, which was the first day of school for most students. But as for me, I enjoyed being school-free, although I was still accustomed to waking up early. It was lucky I did as I saw 2 messages from the previous night. One from Hao Zi to confirm the meeting time and place, another one from Jasmine (as in Green Tea) to ask for people going there from SengKang to meet at the MRT station first. I replied yes to both.
This day happened to be the day when my EZ-link card magically started charging me adult fare (oh, bummer). Turns out Elizabeth was not going and Gabriel would be going to Orchard (the MRT station was the meeting place) from another place. So I only had to wait for Jasmine, who was running a little late. Well, I can forgive her, not many people can SMS at 1a.m. in the morning and still be fresh by 12p.m.
Our trip to Dhoby Ghaut was rather exciting as Hao Zi and Rebecca kept messaging us with things like 'I boarded the train liao' and 'next stop is Boon Keng, rite? I tink we r on e same train'. There was a point when we thought all 4 of us were on the same train. Turns out the messaging service lags a bit, Hao Zi was ahead before us.
Our original plan was to dine in nydc @ Wheelock Place. Hehe, but the food there was a bit expensive and someone didn't like Western food, so we decided on The Pasta Shop instead. Spent the time there listening to Gabriel's escapades in Tekong and Rebecca's experience about her tour of Europe. From what I heard from Gabriel, army life is not so bad, at least for now.
Jasmine had to go for church at 4p.m., and I decided to walk her to the MRT station. That's when the rest (especially, uh-hem, Gabriel) started gossiping. Come on lah, we thought the outing was not gonna last long since Naomi had to work and Gabriel needed to go to The Chuan for BBQ with his other friends. So we already decided beforehand to go back together since we take the same NEL. Turns out no one was leaving and Jasmine had to go, oh well, a promise is a promise. Sent her there and detoured back via underpass.
The girls wanted to go Kinokuniya and as E6 guys, we graciously tagged along. Browsed books and did some purchasing before heading home.
