Present, About Driving (Part 1)

Attended my first driving lesson. I salute all those people out there who have no problem driving their cars. Driving wasn't as easy as I expected, at least for the first lesson it wasn't. After explaining about safety procedures and vehicle controls, we got down to business. Though I've seen Dad drive countless of times, it was totally different when I took the wheel.

Driving isn't easy. Even before moving off, I had trouble with my hand and feet coordination. While trying to figure out what to do next, my eyes need to be fixed on the road. I felt like a blind person trying to touch my way through the appropriate gear and pedal. With more practice, the car was able to move forward, reverse and stop.

The instructor was pretty nice. He preferred to let me fend for myself while he gave commands like 'move forward'. If I appeared to have no idea what to do then he would give the next set of instructions to help me through. And so we practised, I mean I practised in the following sequence: forward, stop, backward, stop. I wasn't too good at the changing of gears because more precise feet coordination was required.

Unfortunately, 100 minutes didn't last very long and it was soon over as the instructor brought my attention to the clock on the car. Looking forward to my next lesson, hope I can try out the driving course next.

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 8)

Adapting to JC life ain't easy, especially when you have a teacher like Alice Teo (shall not badmouth). New environment, new people, new subjects. Though they say the 'first 3 months' is the honeymoon period, I beg to differ. Sure, you can pon lectures and classes like nobody's business but if you are one of those who are certain you would struggle to get into AJC, then every bit of good record counts.

For me, there's another challenge-- to get to see more of her. So far, I haven't seen her for more than 10 seconds since orientation. Our vastly different timetable meant that the most likely time that we can meet is after school and so far I had no luck.

Text messaging seem to be the most probable way to communicate, yet I've run out of topics to message about. Of course, my messages have always been occasional and about school, so much so that I looked like a blur friend asking about this and that rather than a guy that is interested in her.

Present, Blog Rescue

Because of the CNY holidays, I've not been updating my blog for a week liao. The fact is that I'm out from dawn to dusk. But I'm back with more happenings to blog about this week. Watch as I revive this blog...

Present, Entertainment Revolution

Remember the entertainment revolution my Dad suggested on 12 Jan? Well, it is in full swing by now. We chucked the old TV and got a new one. It's (Sharp 37-inch LCD, Full HD) wider, clearer and slimmer. It came with a HD reciever box as well, but oh bummer, reception is poor in my area, so we exchanged for a Home Theater System. Boy oh boy, this keeps getting better and better. So it's a total of a television, 5 speakers (2 surround, 2 side, 1 central) and a DVD player, all matching the sleek, black theme.

It's a pity we don't subscribe to cable television though, otherwise I will be glued to the television all day. Gonna try the new features in the next few days. Let's see, what shall I do first? Should I try playing PS2, or get hold of some awesome blockbuster DVDs, or maybe buy some records to test out the speakers? Argh, there's just too many to do, and too little time.

There should be more to expect in the coming days, after all, the computer is still not fixed yet. Maybe we could even get a new one, or even a laptop. Dream on...

Present, NTU 170109

Went to visit NTU last Saturday. Was really far from my house, I had to take the MRT train from my house to Boon Lay. That sure burned a hole in my EZ-link card. Had to take a shuttle bus from Boon Lay MRT station to NTU. The journey was like travelling to a lost city. We had to tread over a stretch of forested area before reaching. And boy, it was really like a city. It had everything you would need to live comfortably, from the residences to the numerous eating places. And what's a city without people? Even on a Saturday morning, the whole place was brimming with people, not to mention more that were to come later.

The auditorium building (yes, it's a building by itself) had the grandeur of a posh hotel, with its glass wall displaying the carpet flooring within. I figured that it needed to be so huge so that it could house the whole population. What I was more shocked of was the number of visitors who came. They could have MATCHED the campus population (the auditorium was packed). Oh ya, I need to mention the auditorium, AJ's would have only been a third of NTU's. I mean it was like a Vivocity's GV Gold cinema, just that it had rows labelled till Z and accomodated 50 per row. So that's about, oh my goodness, at least 1300 seats in one level (26x50=1300).

Of course the huge turn-out rate signifies one thing-- everyone wants a piece of NTU, but there's just not enough for everyone. I didn't want to think about this but this is the reality. Competition is really stiff and is as stiff as it gets when it comes to university admission. Those RJ, HCI people want it, polytechnic graduates want it, overseas students want it, I want it. I admit I'm not that bad, but I'm really not that good either.

Well enough of the bad thoughts, let's just say if I could get into a local university course, what course would I go for? That's the reason why I went to NTU in the first place. I have come up with several criteria for the prefect course:

1. Job opportunities. I would prefer a course that would equip me with the skills that enable me to be employable for as many jobs as possible. This is the main priority-- to make myself employable. Who knows what would happen to the economy a few years later? Using economic analysis, I should target occupations that are high in demand but low in supply of workers right?

2. Interest. This is a bit like the love or bread kind of questions. If I cannot have both, that I prefer the bread. After the bread, I would look out for love. Yes, I would like my ideal course to have some element of mathematics in it, otherwise it would be a waste of my eh hem, talent. Sure, you may say I could take a couple of electives or even do a minor on mathmatical topics. But somehow, I wanna try out new things for electives, like maybe psychology, wow..

Well, that's all I really want for my ideal course. And so I start to cross out courses that I would never ever want to take:

1. Arts & Social Sciences. Bleh, Arts is a definite no, no. I suck at drawing. And at this level, karaoke sessions isn't enough to say anything dancing and singing. No to music as well. Social Sciences are interesting, but way to tough for me.

2. Medicine, Dentistry & Law. I know I'm stereotyping, but please, RJ and HCI peeps, go for these courses, leave the rest for me okay?

3. Computing. Sure, I had some experience with computing, but I don't wanna turn into a geek (yes, I'm stereotyping again). Also, I cannot imagine myself staring into 1's and 0's for years.

All right then, that leaves the Sciences, Engineering and Business courses. I'm currently placing Actuarial Science as my top choice, haha. It's business related, yet requires statistical expertise and not many people specialise in this. Neat, I've got the bread and the love. All that I need is that good 'A' level certificate, my greatest worry.

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 7)

Since that very day when I first SMSed her, I had stopped doing that. For one thing, I really didn't have anything to message her about, for another, I don't wanna look as if I'm pestering her. December went in a flash. I decided to text her a message again, this time asking about where she would be studying at for the 'first 3 months' as well as wishing her a happy new year.

******: same to u 2o.. i'm gg AJC.. u?
Words can't express my feeling right now. I was overjoyed, simply overjoyed.
Jaikun: me 2o, wat orientation grp r u in?
...

And so we 'chatted', all about orientation groups and who would be going to AJC. I told myself: 'okay, two more months or so to really decide things'. To decide whether I really like her, to decide if she is the girl I would want to woo.

Present, Glory Glory Man United

Yes, Manchester United is officially at the number 1 spot in the Premier League after 21 games. Just one week ago, I've hoped they will be first before February. They got there early, I guess this is an early birthday gift. Good job, Man United, let's get that third Premier League title in a row.

It's nice to see Berbatov scoring goals liked he used to. He's a personal favourite of mine. He looks so cool with his signature mid-length hair. Will blog about him some other day. For now, glory glory, man united!

Present, Greek Mathematics

I've been reading a book entitled 'The Archimedes Codex'. In case you don't know who Archimedes is, well let's just say he was the one who, while watching water splash out of his bath, suddenly ran out naked and shouted 'Eureka'. He had discovered a way to determine whether his king's crown was made of pure gold. His discovery was perhaps the beginning of science.

The Archimedes Principle states that a body immersed in a fluid experiences an upthrust of magnitude equal to the weight of fluid displaced. What I find so fascinating is that he had lived at least 1800 years before Newton studied on forces. In fact, most scientists living in the so-called Golden Age of science referred to Archimedes', or more specifically, Greek knowledge.

I admired the Greek, they were most probably the first superpower in the world. They were the founders of so many areas of human society, be it in religion (Zeus is now so famous in computer games), warfare, literature, mathematics and sciences, philosophy, and even politics (they were the first to practice voting). How did the Greeks figured out so many wonderful things is something I can never understand. Picture 2500 years ago, they already have a whole city built using precise calculations. There were no schools and letters took months to circulate. Yet, they have produced so many geniuses that could have still been geniuses if they lived in our time.

There's one brand of Greek mathematics that I particularly like a lot. I think the MOE should add this into the maths syllabus. It's so easy to understand yet in all my years of study, I've never really looked at area this way. Suppose you needed to find the area of a polygon. An average person will try to divide that polygon into smaller parts like triangles and rectangles and calculating the individual areas before summing them up. But the problem is you often get stuck on where to draw the dividing lines. A primary school student will find it less humiliating to draw unit squares and try to approximate the area.

Well, the Greeks did something quite similar to the primary student but at a deeper level. You see, Greek mathematicians from very early on came up with 3 important discoveries that solved this problem:
1. Every area bound by straight lines can be divided up into triangles.
2. Every triangle can be made equal to half a rectangle.
3. Every rectangle can be made into a square.
The first 2 are easy to understand, but the last one needs a bit of thinking. See, if you can make a square into a rectangle then the reverse can be done as well.

Neat. Next time just divide any shape into triangles since they are the simplest of shapes. Perhaps this is how contractors determine how large an apartment is.

Present, Match That Handwriting

Did some spring cleaning today, namely sorting out that mountain of papers that had accumulated for 2 years. I think I may just break my all-time karung guni sales record if I sold all of them, I swear that it is more than 4 years of secondary school stuff put together.

That's when I unearthed something I've not seen after at least 18 months. There, stacked beneath piles of paper, were comments from my classmates for my speech. It was the sort of GP speech contest where everyone had to participate in. In a way, you get experience for PW, as well as acquire information about various topics which ultimately would be useful for GP.

I found 15 anonymous comments. I vaguely remembered there were like 5-6 GP groups and 1 person from each group would prepare a speech for the lesson. There should be 24 people in the class that day and everyone else had to make a comment. That should give me about 18 comments (24-6=18). Oh man, that means I'd lost some.

Since they were anonymous, I thought it would be fun to try matching the handwriting to my classmates. As I did this exercise, I started to recall some of the moments on that very day. I recalled Ying Hui was sitting in line at the front, telling Jeremy about how nervous she was, while Jeremy was striking his confident pose as usual. Was Michelle in line as well? I can't remember, after all, I was nervous myself.

And so I crossed out Jeremy and Ying Hui in my little matching exercise. In addition, to fuel my mathematical ambition, I did a little bit of statistics. I started out with the guys first, since they were more characteristic.
1. Charlie. 6.5
2. Nicholas. Do I deserve an 8? No need to give me face. 8
3. Arif. Lol, I was some political leader. Well, it was a speech about terrorism after all. Needed to have that feel. 7
Current Mean: 7.17
Current Median: 7

More guys to come.
1. Kai Wei. 7
2. Zen Hong. ~
Kai Wei gave the marks, Zen Hong gave the comments. Why don't you 2 give the comments together on one piece of paper?
Current Mean: 7.13
Median: 7
Mode: 7
Argh, my mean dropped by 0.04 points (0.56% drop).

At this point, I realised Tian Sheng's one was missing. Never mind, let's move on. I'm ashamed to admit that I could recognise 3 of the girls' handwriting. So sorry.
1. Gina. Packed full of comments, but no score, why you copy Zen Hong? At least he has a partner to help him rate me, where's yours? ~
2. Hwee Lin. Very detailed, like a mini checklist. 7
3. Gladys. Recognised hers from miles away 6.5
Current Mean: 7
Median: 7
Mode: 7
Triple 7! I hit the jackpot!

By the time I reached here, my matching became worse. So I whipped out my fan with all my classmates' handwriting on it. Sadly, it did not work that well, I was at a loss. In the end, I gave the handwriting several possible owners.
1. & 2. They belong to Syafeeqah and Qian Hua, but I can't tell which is which. They have been such good friends, even their handwriting are so similar. 7 & 6
3. Jasmine. Unique. 7
Current Mean: 6.89
Median: 7
Mode: 7
In terms of 'A' grading system, I've dropped a grade from A to B.

I hate myself for not finding out who wrote what that day. For the next two, I can only make a smart guess, with reference to the fan of mine.
1. Shu Fen? Some resembence but I'm not quite sure. 7.5
2. Mun Chee? Ah ha, only Arif's had the same title as hers. Could it be that they were of the same GP group? But I don't remember Arif's group mates, only recalled his group was closest to the back door. 6
Current Mean: 6.86
Median: 7
Mode 7
Still dropping, it's worse than the US stock market.

Argh, I give up. Even comparing doesn't help. So I let my instinct do the job. They resemble Gladys' slightly, so I say it's:
1. Hui Min. Remembered her words were smaller than average. 7
2. Michelle. 7.5

Okay 13 sets of score, and for the final resuts:
Mean: 6.92
Median: 7
Mode: 7
Okay back to spring cleaning. Who knows what I might find next...

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 6)

Turned out I need not ask at all. Found a piece of paper with a number in a paper box (the one where you store A4 size papers). Actually, I did not know if it was her number or not, it could have been anyone's. To me, it was sort of like a divination paper. If it was not hers, that I guess our fate ends here.

The 'O' Levels ended and life was not just about school anymore. I tried messaging to that number-- there was still a chance (no matter how slim) that the number was hers. The message was like this: 'hi, my phone malfunctioned n my contacts were deleted.. may i noe hu dis no. belongs 2?..' Sounds cheesy right? Like some old method guys use to hook girls up. But I could not think of anything better. You can't expect me to write: 'i found dis no. in ******'s box, hu r u?'. Do you?

At this point don't ever try to guess who's name has 6 letters in it. It's useless, the person involved may not even have a name with 6 letters.

She sent '******, haha hu r u?'. I sent my name back and the conversation ended-- she did not reply. Was she shocked to know that I had her number in my contacts all along? Would she have felt I might have liked her and wanted to be more than just friends? I dared not find out. After all, I didn't want to scare her off.

Movie Tidbits, Red Cliff 2

There's no victor here, we've all lost-- Zhou Yu

Wars are fought to conquer.
Wars are fought to protect.

In the end, much more is lost than won.

Yet, wars are inevitable.

For if you don't fight, you will definitely perish.

Your family will perish, your homeland will perish.
The battle of the Red Cliff is but one out of numerous examples.

Present, The Old Must Go Before The New Can Come

Things in my house are breaking down one by one. First, the sound card from my PC was spoiled. This meant no Imeem visits and anime. Then my phone broke down such that the only thing I could do was call and SMS. Subsequently, the TV set died too. Not even channel 5 to watch. Our main sources of entertainment were cut of, so I resorted to books instead.

Dad was particularly frustrated with the situation and suggested an entertainment revolution-- get rid of everything that has spoilt and get brand new ones. The family agreed, after all he was the one paying (I have become a miser lately). Maybe this was a sign of doing away with the old and welcoming the new, as Chinese New Year is round the corner.

It's gonna be a tough year ahead as recession looms and the Middle East continues to be a war zone. I'm grateful that I will be enlisting soon as I wait for the economy to recover. It's my family that I'm worried about. Do hope we can get through these tough times. Maybe I am thinking too much again, the situation may not be as bad.

Future, Manchester United Versus Chelsea

Tonight, the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of the English Premier League will clash in a bid to challenge Liverpool for the title. Let's take a look at the league table, shall we?

1. Liverpool, Played 21, 46 Points
2. Chelsea, Played 20, 42 Points
3. Aston Villa, Played 21, 41 Points
4. Manchester United, Played 18, 38 Points
5. Arsenal, Played 21, 38 Points

Liverpool's draw with Stoke last night meant that Manchester United has a chance to overtake if they win all their games at hand. This makes today's game all the more important. By beating Chelsea, they get to pull away from their closest rivals while being within touching distance with Liverpool.

Liverpool would be hoping for a draw or a Chelsea win in tonight's match. A draw would mean that even if Manchester United wins all their games in hand, Liverpool will still be 3 points clear of Chelsea [46-(42+1)=3] and 1 point clear of Manchester United [46-(38+1+6)=1]. A Chelsea win would mean Liverpool is just 1 point ahead of Chelsea [46-(42+3)=1] and 2 points ahead of Manchester United [46-(38+6)=2]. That is, again, if Manchester United wins all their games in hand.

Of course, non-title contenders Aston Villa and Arsenal will be looking for a draw as well as they seek to consolidate a Champions League spot.

Personally, I will be hoping for a Manchester United win, that should give the papers more to write about how long Liverpool can stay on top. As a Manchester United fan, I had hoped United to be tops by Christmas. Sadly it did not come through. So this time, I'm hoping they will be there before February.

Movie Tidbits, Ip Man

It's not the fist techniques that determine the winner, it's the person using them that does. -- Ip Man

He fights not for the honour or glory.
He fights not for the fame or fortune.
He fights for the fun of it.
Above all, he fights for his family, for his friends, for his fellow countrymen.
He is Ip Man.

Present, I Love School

A week into no-school, independent life and I start to understand why adults always say it is better to study than work. You may think I'm out of my mind, but I liked studying in school. Why? Because transportation and food are driving me crazy. My EZ-link magically charges adult fare and I must say food outside ain't cheap. Now, a regular trip out for lunch takes about $5. How I wish I was still a student, with my meals taken care of at the canteen and no financial worries. Started to appreciate student meals and AMK Hub movie tickets.

Above all, I need not plan so much while I was in school, everyday was routine-- go school, mug, go home. For now, I need to plan what I'm gonna wear, which route is cheapest, where to eat cheaply. School is like a second home (Zhonghua spirit), really. You get to meet friends everyday and hang out. Now, hanging out needs some consideration because, eh hem, it costs a lot.

Okay, no school isn't all no good. At least I get to spend smartly (those home economics lesson do come handy) and have more choices to make which is a good thing (can put my P&C skills to good use here).

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 5)

My life became more meaningful after that realisation. Everyday became a day of getting to know her better. Everything about her became pleasant. Above all, I was mesmerised by her smile. I guess I like girls who smile a lot (not every girl's smile is pleasing to the eye), they make me want to stay close to them and I feel as happy too.

Homework was done not just for my own good but for her as well. After all, almost half of the work she copied was from me. That's why I would always go the extra distance, especially in maths, to produce neat, quality work that evryone was so in awe of (this habit must have continued on to JC as well). I had hoped that my work would become the bridge that connects me to her, not just in studies alone, if you know what I mean.

This feeling was short-lived as the 'O' Levels drew near. I started to emo about the possibility of going separate ways in the midst of my revision. I had to ask for her number, that was the only way to stay in touch. The class list didn't show her handphone number nor her email address. Obviously, she had issues about giving her personal information to casual friends. Do I stand a chance?

Present, Passed BTT

Yes, I have passed my Basic Theory Test. Oh yeah, I have completed the first step towards the coveted Driving License. However, there's still a long way to go. There's one more Final Theory Test and a Traffic Police Practical Test coming up before I get the license. Finally, after years of taking the backseat, I'm going to try taking the wheel for a start. Yes, will be taking practical lessons from 22 January.

Can't help thinking about the 'A' Levels as the day of the results looms closer. Hope it will be as good as my Basic Theory Test results. Yeah, that would be great.

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 4)

I had to confirm my feelings, so I pondered on it for a while. It seemed that I was subconsciously doing homework for her sake rather than for myself. Even dreadful subjects such as the humanities do not seem to be dreadful anymore if I was doing homework for her. Somehow, I didn't like to see her disappointed face every time she found out she had nothing to copy from me. Conversely, I liked it when she pulled me close and asked me to solve those tough maths questions.

Homework aside, I realised I tend to stay back late in school. The main reason for this is to study in a conducive environment while waiting for my friends from other classes. But I suspect there is another reason-- to get to see more of her. Her unrelenting copying of homework and borrowing of money didn't seem like a big problem anymore. Instead, it was the ticket to get to communicate with her. And so I confirmed that I had a crush on her.

Present, A Blog A Day

Managing a blog is hard work, it's like taking care of a child. First, you need to give it a nice skin (branded clothes), then you need to give in love by giving it posts (food). Of course, the child also needs accessories from time to time (clock, music playlist, etc.).

Recently, this child has grown and needs more supplements. So I'm giving this blog a blog address a day. I would need to ask permission from my friends to allow me to place their blog addresses on my blog (I feel that this is common courtesy).

Wish myself luck in keeping this 'A Blog A Day' project alive for as long as possible. First up is Nicholas' blog...

Present, My Blog is One Month Old

My blog man yue already. To celebrate its maturity, I'm releasing its address on my MSN messenger. If you are reading this, do leave your name (or nick) and blog address (if you have one). I'm still new to Blogger, so it would be great if you people can share some tips and tricks with me. Happy New Year to all. Yup, that's all I've got to say.

Present, Party of 8

This outing came with a short notice. It was kinda rushed since Gabriel didn't have much time to be on the outside. Still, many people answered the calling. It was sort of like a gathering to send Gabriel off to Tekong again, as well as say our goodbyes to Hao Zi and Sihao who are enlisting soon.

Yesterday was 2 January, which was the first day of school for most students. But as for me, I enjoyed being school-free, although I was still accustomed to waking up early. It was lucky I did as I saw 2 messages from the previous night. One from Hao Zi to confirm the meeting time and place, another one from Jasmine (as in Green Tea) to ask for people going there from SengKang to meet at the MRT station first. I replied yes to both.

This day happened to be the day when my EZ-link card magically started charging me adult fare (oh, bummer). Turns out Elizabeth was not going and Gabriel would be going to Orchard (the MRT station was the meeting place) from another place. So I only had to wait for Jasmine, who was running a little late. Well, I can forgive her, not many people can SMS at 1a.m. in the morning and still be fresh by 12p.m.

Our trip to Dhoby Ghaut was rather exciting as Hao Zi and Rebecca kept messaging us with things like 'I boarded the train liao' and 'next stop is Boon Keng, rite? I tink we r on e same train'. There was a point when we thought all 4 of us were on the same train. Turns out the messaging service lags a bit, Hao Zi was ahead before us.

Our original plan was to dine in nydc @ Wheelock Place. Hehe, but the food there was a bit expensive and someone didn't like Western food, so we decided on The Pasta Shop instead. Spent the time there listening to Gabriel's escapades in Tekong and Rebecca's experience about her tour of Europe. From what I heard from Gabriel, army life is not so bad, at least for now.

Jasmine had to go for church at 4p.m., and I decided to walk her to the MRT station. That's when the rest (especially, uh-hem, Gabriel) started gossiping. Come on lah, we thought the outing was not gonna last long since Naomi had to work and Gabriel needed to go to The Chuan for BBQ with his other friends. So we already decided beforehand to go back together since we take the same NEL. Turns out no one was leaving and Jasmine had to go, oh well, a promise is a promise. Sent her there and detoured back via underpass.

The girls wanted to go Kinokuniya and as E6 guys, we graciously tagged along. Browsed books and did some purchasing before heading home.

Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 3)

$5 was the largest amount she had borrowed from me. The class fund needed money urgently and she did not have enough. I can see it from her eyes that she did not want to ask me for the money (after all $5 is quite a large sum, at least to me it is) as she threw quick glances around to see if anyone could help her. I tell you, no guy would have ditched her at this moment when she's looking all forlorn and distressed. I was the stupid guy who fell for it, I guessed that's righteousness, or was there more?

Repayment came a few days later in the form of a crisp $5 note and a sweet smile of thanks (Why do I think it is sweet, I must be out of my mind). A week later, as I was checking my wallet, I was surprised to see her $5 note to be still inside. Why had I not used it? Was it because it was kinda new? Was it because of the cool serial number (1AF234957)? Or was it because this was given to me by her? Oh man, I think I like her.

Future, 2009

Hello 2009! It's the new year, time to throw all the unhappiness of last year away. Spent the last moments of 2008 emo-ing. Why do I emo? Because I promised myself not to get so upset about things in the new year (I may always look happy on the outside, but deep down I may be crying sometimes). How to emo? Well, watched Fruits Basket. I know it's an old anime, but I think its the best anime to emo on. If you wanna watch it, check out http://www.dubhappy.com/anime/fruit-basket/ A really touching story. Next, listened to emo songs from Show (as in 羅志祥). Liked his songs 第二順位 and 搞笑. They actually sort of depict how I'm feeling right now (the songs are in my playlist).

After all that emo-ing, it was time for the fireworks to burn the unhappiness away. It's time to let go after this one last try.

Okay, my previous sentence must have made everyone curious, but I ain't gonna type what had happened just yet. Many exciting events coming up this January:

4 Jan: One Month Old Blog
Yes, my blog will be one month old on this day. I'll release this blog address to my friends gradually as a way to celebrate. More exciting gadgets coming to this blog.

5 Jan: Basic Theory Test
For those people who dunno what this is. This is a driving theory test. If I passed this test, I would be able to learn to drive a car for real. Passing also means I can go on to book a date for the Final Theory Test. Wish me luck!

7 Jan: Farewell
Sending off for 3 of my newly-found 'brothers' Hao Zi, Sihao and Wei Sheng to Tekong on this very day. Bye and take care.

17 Jan: NTU tour
Bet you all didn't know NTU is organising a tour for 'A' level students. I'm going to take a tour of the Nanyang Business School and School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Do really hope I can get into NTU.

And then there's Chinese New Year, it comes rather early this year. Wonder what my relatives would say if I told them I have no school to study in. Ha!
