CNY is always exciting. You get to go house-to-house and meet up with your relatives, eat tasty treats and get angpows. Amidst the economic gloom, I think CNY celebrations are still relatively the same in my family, just that weddings are postponed. It’s always nice to see my cousins after some time, especially my 2 lovely baby cousins, Xuan and Jun (who are 27 and 16 months old respectively).
Didn’t get to catch Jun on camera as he still ain’t walking steady yet and requires more care from his parents. But here’s little Xuan (ain’t she cute?):
Ah, people just get older every year as new life begins. I realised my grandparents have aged a lot and getting more forgetful. Like my paternal grandma for example (a.k.a. Taxi Mama), she keeps telling me to endure when I’m in NS for the past 5 fortnights every time my family visits. I feel kinda sad for them, living all by themselves. That’s why I always made it a point to visit them on Sundays (meaning I never go out on Sundays).
Unfortunately, like past CNYs, I didn’t get to gamble. Nope, no Mahjong, no cards. The adults don’t play, because they have children to take care of. The youths can’t play, because they have school the next day. But I have no children or school, but there’s no one to play with. Ah, the agony.
Well, something was different this year, I got to test my alcoholic limits again. This time, I lost to a Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac. It was 40% alcohol, mind you. I only drank like 10ml plus an ice cube and I couldn’t take it. I think it’s back to Choya for me.
