2 outings in 3 days, 2 different experiences. While the 06 one was off-budget @ marina square, the E6 one was for the paupers. Of course money is not everything, I liked the E6 gathering much better even though the food wasn't as nice as Seoul Garden. I guessed I still liked my old friends better. Ah, long time no see.
Was surprised that more than half of the class turned out on a Sunday (who says everyone is busy in weekends?). Even more surprised that everyone came on time (within 30 minutes of the arranged time). Finally was so touched that everyone stayed together in a group and nobody went off in their cliques. Way to go E6.
And so we had lunch (steamboat buffet again) at a roadside eating house in Bugis. We must have gave the boss a shock when we all rushed to clear her food stock. But she should be laughing at the end having earned $200+ at one shot. With 10 people to a table the atmosphere was extremely rowdy, as if we owned the place to ourselves. Everyone was interested in how our friends were, and what better time to talk than over a 3-hour lunch.
After lunch, we went to the National Library and sat at the open space outside the building. Was again surprised no one rejected to this idea. I guessed everyone really had no extra cash. We were just too big a group and that worried the security guards as we were attracting too much attention sitting in a big circle. So we decided to take photos instead, but that also worried the guards. I wondered why are they so cautious about. Are they afraid we were some terrorists acting as youths but whose true motive was to get to know where is the best place to plant a bomb?
In the end, we resolved their worries by sitting in smaller groups scattered around the place. Naturally, the guys got together to have a men's talk. That's when I realised all guys have problems with their relationships with girls, is just that we don't talk openly about it in front of others. Haiz, we were emo-ing back there. Why are E6 guys so unsuccessful in relationships? Then we made a pact that we would be the best-man of each other when anyone of us guys marry. That, I must say, is so thoughtful.
The girls were more excited than the guys about going for NS. Why though? It's just a part of life for young men. Guys dread it most of the time, so we'd rather spend time talking about games and love.
Yes, E6 gathering was a simple affair, simple but memorable.
