Past, Chapter 3: The 5-dollar Crush (Part 9)

When a guy like me pons lessons because of a girl, then you know he must feel something for her. I pon-ed GP. Okay, not just for her only. Partly because it was the last day of the ‘first 3 months’, and I don’t like GP, and I confirmed that my results can get into AJC. But most important, it was mostly due to her, otherwise I would not put pen to paper.

Here’s how the story goes. Days, if not months in AJC has equipped me with information of her hang-outs in school. After all AJC wasn’t that big and she wasn’t hard to miss (at least in my eyes she wasn’t). She always sat at the Ohana area before morning assembly (MA) and I always sat at the canteen area. So I would always excuse myself to the toilet to catch a glimpse of her. Today was different, she was not there. Could she have been late? I wondered.

I checked at the rows where classes were supposed to stand during MA. She would normally be in front but there was no sign of her. Though it was the last day, I never would believe that she would skip lessons like that. She was my classmate after all. I sent a message over, asking if she really did pon-ed school. It was the first ‘beyond school stuff’ kind of message if you know what I mean.

The message came during lunch-time. She said she was having a fever, unlike what I thought in the first place. I felt like going straight to her house, then it struck me that I didn’t know where. I wanted to send thoughtful words, but I didn’t know how. This was the first time I thought hard on how to phrase a reply. In the end, I sent 2 words back—take care. This was the best reply a normal friend like me could send.

The news intensified my desire to pon, only an hour of GP remained.

Reasons for pon-ing in a no order of merit:

1. It’s the last day.

2. I never pon-ed before and this may be the only time I can do it without leaving a bad record.

3. It’s GP.

4. I will not absorb anything even if I stayed.

5. She was sick, even if I stayed there’s no chance of seeing her.

6. I may never see her again, it’s only fair that I went home to emo.

7. I will show my classmates I’m not as school rule-abiding as they think I am.

And so I pon-ed.

Music Tidbits, Love Song(s) (Part 1)

It's Valentine's Day next week. As always, I'll be spending it alone. But it's okay, I have music to accompany me. In the following week, I'll be 'airing' my favourite love songs on my blog (courtesy of Imeem) to spread the love.

First up is 'Beautiful Girls' by Sean Kingston. The gist of the lyrics? You will never get to be with a beautiful girl forever if you are average looking. But don't take it too hard and think of suicide like this guy.

Do you know that there is a reply song by JoJo? The lyrics are similar but in a girl's (beautiful) point of view. They are both great, enjoy!

Beautiful Girls-Sean Kingston

JR! Sean Kingston!

You're way too beautiful, girl
That's why it'll never work
You'll have me suicidal, suicidal
When you say it's over

Damn all these beautiful girls
They only want to do you dirt
They'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When they say it's over

See, it started at the park
Used to chill after dark
Oh, when you took my heart
That's when we fell apart
Cause we both thought that love lasts forever (lasts forever)

They say we're too young
To get ourselves sprung
oh we didn't care
We made it very clear
And they also said that we couldn't last together (last together)

See, it's very divine, girl
You're one of a kind
But you mush up my mind
You often get declined
Oh Lord, my baby's driving me crazy

You're way too beautiful, girl
That's why it'll never work
You'll have me suicidal, suicidal
When you say it's over
Damn all these beautiful girls
They only want to do you dirt
They'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When they say it's over

It was back in '99
Watchin movies all the time

Oh, when I went away
For doing my first crime

And I never thought that we was gonna see each other (see each other)

And then I came out
Mommy moved me down south
Oh, I'm with my girl
Who I thought was my world
It came out to be
That she wasn't the girl for me (girl for me)

See, it's very divine
girl,You're one of a kind
But you mush up my mind
You often get declined
Oh Lord, my baby's driving me crazy

You're way too beautiful, girl
That's why it'll never work
You'll have me suicidal, suicidal
When you say it's over
Damn all these beautiful girls
They only want to do you dirt
They'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When they say it's over

Now we are fussing
and now we're fighting
Please tell me why
I'm feeling slighted
And I don't know how to make it better (make it better)
You're dating other guys
You're telling me lies
Oh, I can't believe
what I'm seeing with my eyes
I'm losing my mind and
I don't think it's clever (think it's clever)

You're way too beautiful, girl
That's why it'll never work
You'll have me suicidal, suicidal, suicidal

Beautiful Girls- JoJo

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Yeah yeah

I remember when
I was hanging with my friends
That's when I caught your eye
You thought that I was fly
Right then you wished that I would be your baby (be your baby)

You try to spit some game
Asking me girl what's your name
All that ice upon ya chain
So I asked you the same
Something tells me that we have fun together (fun together)

I ain't easy to find
I'm one of a kind
Oh when I dutty wine
I know your only mine
Tonight is yours
Tomorrow is for another guy (another guy)

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

You've been calling me
Leaving messages all week
Was your curiosity
Got ya knees weak
I'm not looking for a man
So I don't want no confusion (no confusion)

I took ya to the floor
Got ya begging me for more
But that was my queue to go
So I hit the door
I let you hot
With your mind used to running wild (running wild)

I ain't easy to find
I'm one of a kind
Oh when I dutty wine
I know your only mine
If you stick around
Be careful not to fall in love (fall in love)

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Now a couple months have passed
Never thought that this would last
Oh everybody asked
How ya got a girl like that
But you should've known
That nothing lasts forever (lasts forever)

I mashed up ya mind
When I tell you lies
But boy don't be surprised
That I'm seeing other guys
I'm too young to settle
And you should've known better (known better)

Damn all these beautiful girls (you should have known)
We're only gonna do your dirt (cos I'll have)
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Present, Physical Training

While my buddies are sweating it out at Tekong, I’ve decided to do some physical training on my own as well, though it will never be as tough as that in Tekong. But you know, I’m taking small steps so that my body is accustomed to training everyday. So this period is the best time to do something about it as CNY is over and there are no more distractions like work and such.

I’ve come up with a training regime so that I have no excuse not to exercise. Haha, the schedule looks something like this:

Running 0.6 km

Push-ups 10

Sit-ups 20

Jumping Jacks

Sprints 50m

Knee Bends 5 sets of 20

Redo this set in reverse order

Hmm, this looks pretty tough, especially for a person who doesn’t like to work out (a.k.a. me). But isn’t training supposed to be a form of discipline? No pain no gain, just like in studies. Haiz, no sleep liao, gotta sleep early and exercise early next morning and hopeful it becomes a habit.

This reminds me of something I like to tell people who are studying:

In studies, you reap what you sow, well not always.

If you don’t put in effort, you will not succeed, unless you are some genius or damn lucky.

Even if you put in effort, you may not get the desired results.

So if you are an average person like me, do something about it, coz it beats doing nothing at all.

Present, Apologies

My blog has not been updated for a few days now. It’s not that I have nothing to blog about (in fact, there’s still many events I have to share), but I’m kinda busy these few days. Therefore, some posts may not be very current. But still, I believe they should be given a chance to be posted. Lots of happenings to post, I better type it down, otherwise I would forget.

Next posts: Physical Training, Pre CNY E6 Gathering, Solar Eclipse, CNY, Post CNY 06 Outing, My Birthday, Dengue Blacklist.
